Easy Ways to Increase your daily activity level

There are many different ways to increase your daily activity level and often the most difficult part can be getting started. Some people are nervous that if they start to exercise they will become hungrier which will lead them to eating more thus preventing weight loss. Yet the real reason they feel hungry is that their blood sugar has dropped. Exercising actually assists in normalizing and evening out fluctuations in one’s blood sugar levels. Exercising also activates and strengthens your muscles which will allow you to burn fat instead of carbohydrates.

This reduction in the burning of carbohydrates maintains your blood sugar levels in a more balanced manner. We can all agree that burning present fat on your body instead of extraneous carbohydrates in your system would be a definite benefit of exercise. Exercising also helps to eliminate waste within the body, giving your body better nourishment from the foods you eat.

Exercise also elevates your body temperature which mobilizes the fat within the body. The resting metabolic rate will be higher after a workout which helps to burn more fat, lowering one’s body fat percentage.

Exercise not only does the body good but it also has a significant impact on mood. Those who exercise tend to feel less stressed, better about themselves and are overall more healthy.

There are many different ways to increase your activity level. Many people find it best to work out first in the morning. Working out in the morning helps to kick start your metabolism and you can feel good for the rest of the day knowing you have already exercised. Start parking further away from your destination. Whether it be at work or shopping the extra walking can do wonders for your metabolism. Other simple ways to add some activity into your life are to take the stairs instead of an elevator, go for walks, or do some gardening. If you find it difficult to get your exercise in early in the morning do it right after work. That way it is over with and you will be able to enjoy the rest of your evening feeling good physically and mentally. Make sure that you start slow and do not over exert yourself; otherwise you may be discouraged from further increasing your activity level.

The best way to increase your activity level is to make sure you are having fun. Find some activities that work for you and you can gradually build on them.
